Speed.

our life revolves around it.
especially in this modern world we live in.

everyone is more or less obsessed with speed.
to be fast,
to be the first.

from broadband connection speeds up to the rush to churn out patents,
its all speed.

yet, does this speed benefit us at all?
or does it offer noting more then trivial "benefits" and bragging rights?

we tend to move on so fast in life that we neglect what is around us.
what is the use of reaching the destination, when you neglect the journey?
reaching the destination means the end.... so are we all in a rush to the end?

what about the flowers by the side of the road?

one reason i can think of, to why we rush so much, is that in our increasingly "free" world, we are in fact experiencing less freedom.

yes. it is paradoxical... but that is the truth isn't it?
as much as "freedom" is being preached all around this planet of ours, the idea of "success" has become increasingly limited.

no longer are we free to determine the measure of our own success.
on the contrary, we are forced to oblige to the definition of "success" of the world.

life, is no longer so much as living fruitfully (emotionally, mentally and spiritually), then living fruitfully (economically, being famous....)

all of us are now in a "rat race". a race that never ends towards a unreachable goal.
for such superficial "success" would never be enough to satisfy. simply because there will never be "enough" fame, "enough" fortune.

so why then do we pursue speed in order to reach our unreachable goals?
why?

why do we emphasize so much on what cannot be reached?

speed... it is such a perculiar obsession for us..........

***

humans are such complex creatures...
well.... life itself is complex.......

even simple things we take for granted like respiration and photosynthesis can be so confusing, so complex.
yea, bio professionals out there may not think so, but they are.... to me at least..... since this is MY blog.....

yet, as complex as these tangible things may be, it is the "un-tangible" that is even more complex.
emotions, thoughts, behavior....
these things confound the greatest minds on our planet, yet is part and parcel of the life of the average man ( or woman for all you feminists)....... and yet, out of all these, the one that is the most un-understandable is a simple four letter word.

L-O-V-E.

the state of emotions that we symbolise with a collection of pink hearts and a hundred red roses...

even the state of my heart is one i cannot fathom, not to mention others.

can someone enlighten me on this??
