another day has past......

today has been quite a fun day.

but that's besides the point.

as some would have realised by now, i don't exactly blog about every stupid thing that happens in my life. well...... my life is stupid, so there's not much variation each day........

thus, today i would be expressing my view on the use of words. or language for that matter......

i know that i am but a student in a not-so-prestigious junior college, but i am still entitled to my views, aren't i? don't worry all ye advocates against free speech, i'm not flaming anyone..... its still responsible speech here.....

personally, i believe that the use of words (or language) is not at all a simple issue...

it is not only about ensuring that the grammer is "correct" or that the use of words are "appropriate", or even if de werds U-sed egzist. to me, language is alot more than that.

there's this rather interesting book (well.... interesting to me at least...) that i've read.

its an interesting book as the writer, uses etymology to debunk many of our assumptions and "what's Wrong and right" in our use of English.

well..... that's interesting to me.

personally i believe that language is about communication. it is a tool tht i m usin to allow u 2 understand wht i m tryin 2 convey.

it doesn't matter if i type in proper words and sentences or not. that does not bother me at all.

i osso bo chup on whether i'm mixing languages or breaking any "rules" of language.

then again, the english language that we all speak/write/type has been borrowing words and changing spellings and grammar rules for all its life!

the only thing important to me about words and language, is that both the writer and the reader would understand what has been exchanged.

for one, i won't mind if anyone replies on my taggy with French, or German or even Martian.

i just won't understand it. simple.

even as much as i heck care about de rules of language (rebellious, aren't i?), i would adhere to them sometimes. not because i agree that they are right and ought to remain so, but that it is the language SOME people only understand. thus i shall use it to communicate with them.
