a few days ago, i was asked to "introduce myself" to the new J1s.

my reply was simply, "my name is inconsequential. so long as i know you are talking to me, that's fine."

apparently they did not like that answer and insisted i give my name.

eventually, i did give my name, but i still belief that it is inconsequential. not that i do not like my name, i love it very much, but i think that a name is just that. a name.

maybe i am weird. but that doesn't matter does it?

i have many weird friends.
friends with peculiar behaviors and traits.

as much as i joke with them about their and mine "weird-ness",
i have come to realize a rather strange fact.

as i looked around, it became clear that EVERYONE is weird.

there really isn't anyone who can claim to "be normal".

simply because, we are all so different, so diverse, so unique.

there are no two people who are completely alike (i mean looks, personality etc...).

and since there are no two people who are the same, what then can constitute "normal"?
Dictionary.com defines normal as "conforming to the standard or the common type"

but hey!

everyone is different. so what is the "standard"? what is the "common type"?

even when we set a certain standard to be "normal", can we really be that "normal"?

being so varied, so different, who is "normal"?

we are all weird, all peculiar, all strange.

simply because we are who we are.
