A new year beckons.

The tides of time stops for no man.

In a few minutes, we the folks of sunny Singapore would be heralding the coming of a new year. Yes, 2012 has come and will soon be leaving us. Looking back, this year has been a hectic, chaotic, cruel and ridiculously eventful. Never have I experienced so much, and achieved as much as I did this year.

Earlier in December, when I was bored and alone at home, I spent a great deal of time looking back at my past (albeit as far as facebook is concerned). From there, I realised I did something interesting when 2010 came to a close. Well, if some of you might remember, this one held my own mini award ceremony in the form of a "note" crediting all the nonsensical ad funny people in my life. Then last year, nothing. I wonder what happened... Thus, i thought to combine both last years and this together, but it has proven challenging. Apart from the fact that there are alot more contenders to any sort of "awards" I would attribute, it has also occurred to me that some of the things that we said/do should be kept within ourselves. (The various "bro-codes", "oaths of secrecy" and "this-stays-within-these-four-walls" don't really help.....)

So here I am. Half an hour to the new year.

Time stops for no man. In a blink of an eye, I was serving National Service. In a flash, that was over. When I was 6, 12 seems so far away. 18 was a fantasy. 20 an eternity, Now here I am, 20 of years, I start to miss the good old days. I miss the nonsense we could get away with, the things we said to each other, the promises we made.

You know, at this point in time, we always say to each other, "we should hang out more". Yes we should. I miss all my old pals. Some I have no idea if they are even alive or not, some simply refuse to meet me for fear of my camera. I would like to meet up once again. To catch up, and to just have fun. To reminiscent the past, and enjoy the present.

To all of you, my dear friends, a toast I propose. For our past, with our present, towards our future.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
